About Hannah Kwon, LMFT

Hello, I'm Hannah

I identify as Asian-American, having been born in Los Angeles by my immigrant parents and having navigated multiple cultures and generational differences throughout my life. Though I didn't have the language or know-how to describe, let alone validate, what I was experiencing or feeling, I have since been on my own journey of constantly learning and unlearning, healing and grieving, living and resting. The idea of investing my time, care, resources and self to holding spaces for others  comes from a deep lived understanding that we all have our unique stories where most of us have not had the luxury, the language, the teaching to help us validate and navigate our own stories.

My background includes having been able to work amongst individuals (20s-65 yrs) in home-based settings with a focus on homelessness, addiction, stigma, occupation, daily living, trauma, and family/relationships issues; in school-based settings with individuals/families (11-19 yrs) with a focus on peer pressure, covid, school/purpose stress, intergenerational/cultural family issues, depression/anxiety, goal setting, and communication/relationship issues; and now in a telehealth setting with individuals (18+ yrs) with a focus on: grief/loss, complex trauma, intergenerational family issues, cultural/racial identity, anxiety/depression, life transitions, self-esteem, identity, spirituality/faith, women mental health and relational issues.

I believe your story and your process is unique to you and my experience continues to reaffirm one truth: you are the expert of your story and I am the expert in guiding and providing my insight, resources, curiosity, and skillset to safely identify your core roots, reaffirm chosen/healthy foundations, and to tailor/expand your own toolkit of skills and practices that best fit you.
